Director of the Wine Judging Academy of the University of Cape Town’s Graduate School of Business, Michael Fridjhon is widely recognised as South Africa’s foremost wine taster and wine judge. With over four decades' experience in every segment of the industry, show chairman on three different continents and on more than 20 occasions, author, co-author or contributor to more than 40 books including the Oxford Companion to Wine, the Global Wine Encyclopaedia and the John Platter Wine Guide - he brings unparalleled judgement and experience to the task of reviewing a wine and its potential. His notes are the best and safest guideline available to collectors and consumers of Cape wines.
Michael Crossley
Michael is the Managing Director of The Reciprocal Wine Trading Company, South Africa's oldest importer of fine wines and spirits. Within the portfolio are many outstanding examples of European, American and Australasian wines which are not easily accessible in retail outlets. In addition, Reciprocal Wine Trading Company is the sole distributor of Riedel Wine Glasses which are considered to be the finest wine glasses in the world.
Distinction Graduate of the Wine Judging Academy, a Chevalier de Tastevin and a recipient of the 'Ordre des Coteaux de Champagne', he judges locally and abroad, and brings these skills to the Wine Wizard tasting room from time to time.
Alex Mason-Gordon
Alex is responsible for the day to day running of the tasting room. She sources the wines and information from the farm, facilitates the tastings for the Michael Fridjhon and manages the information integrity on the site.
